Australia

The bowlers are doing so well it’s like they were on strike in Adelaide and forgot to inform the media.

England

It seemed that Strauss stopped captaining early on and rang the party organisers to move it to Melbourne.

Who will retain the ashes

England.  Australia can’t keep this up.  Mitchell is too Mitchell to be able to keep this up, and the rest seem to need a touch of Mitchell to get them started.

Play of the day

My friend Ruth claims she saw the nutsack of the streaker.  If she did she saw what looked like two very white balls.  Personally I thought the streaker was great because he found a way to trip himself up with his own pants before the security even got to him.

Testicular moment of the day

I suppose that goes to the streaker.  Although Mike Hussey was pretty good too.

Working class moment of the day

People will remember that Chris Tremlett took a five wicket haul at the WACA.  They will also remember that England lost and then they’ll sigh.

Weird factoid of the day

Hussey has now made 19 straight 50s in this ashes series.  Maybe more.

  1. May be England are not as good as they were in Adelaide or not as bad as they are in Perth. Somewhere in between. If Clarke and Ponting can get it together, this puppy could go all the way down the wire.

“How does Poop of Micheal Hussey smell like Poms?”

Poms: “It smells like shit, mate”

“How does poop of Mitch. Johnson smell like Poms?”

Poms: “It smells like gutter, mate”

“How does poop of Pup smell like Poms?”

    Poms: “It smells like perfume.”

“How does poop of Ricky P. smell like Poms?”

Swanny : “He hasn’t pooped yet, he has a constipation”.

  3. When’s Shane Warne coming back? It’s clear Australia need him.

    has smith bowled yet?

no mention of watto twatto? i liked his “fuck i am not out, just ask me” impression.

  6. SpryCorpse says:

Ryan Harris looks at home at this level.
If Johnson disappears again in Melbourne, Australia will at least have Harris as their dangerous bowler.
I think Australia should go with four quicks for the rest of the series.
Hilfenhaus and Siddle are each better than the best spinner in the country.
Although perhaps Hauritz could replace Hughes, Clarke, or Ponting given his propensity for centuries at the moment.
    :-)

It’s Harris and Johnson together. They bowl fast and can do stuff with the ball. Well, Johnson can sometimes and I would think with Harris taking some of the wicket-taking weight, Johnson might relax and bowl better more often.

Though I don’t expect phenomenal spells like the first innings very often.
