Nasser Hussain has given Stuart Broad a pass for the last ball overthrow that cost England the game.
According to Nass, Broad is a winner, and he thought he could hit the stumps, so he had a shot.
In close matches like this, people often forget the mistakes that players have made earlier in the game.
England made a few mistakes, they put their only two six hitters at the top of the order, they didn’t select Dimi or Swann, their second 10 overs with the bat was poor, they allowed the Dutch too many twos, Collingwood’s captaincy looked uninspired and he seemed to the lose the plot several times with the field, and they missed 3 run outs in the last over.
Well England didn’t, Broad did, on twitter Gagger, of Green and Godl rugby, called it a “shat trick”.
Hard to argue with that term, three fucking times Broad had a chance to get a run out, and he failed (he also missed a catch).
How is that a winner?
Can you imagine Warne or McGrath missing three times in one over?
Even Gough?
Doubtful.
Broad is not a winner, he bowled a great over, but he couldn’t finish the work off by getting any of the three run outs.
Broad might become one, and he is improving as a bowler, but this was a “shat trick”, not the work of a winner.
