England, 5th June 2009: The Village Cricketer today announced the line up of English All Stars for the pre-Ashes charity cricket match in aid of the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign, and issued a stark warning to the descendents of convicts and colonists that will be turning out for the Cricket with Balls Aussie Code of Conduct XI, turn up and lose!

On Monday 29th June 2009, the great and good of the English and Australian online cricket worlds will gather at Barnes CC, London, for a charity cricket match held to raise awareness of and funds for the Everyman male cancer campaign, part of the Institute of Cancer Research.
The Village Cricketer confidently predicts that his side – The Village Cricketer’s English All Stars – will win the best of one series 1 – 0.

“The English All Stars is a team of hugely talented, exciting and above all modest Englishmen. It is very simple, with this side we cannot lose,” said The Village Cricketer. “The Aussie Code of Conduct XI will be jetlagged or hungover. We are going to deliver a Pomme-wash to the travelling Canary Yellows, delivering a trouncing that will help the England side proper carry momentum into the Ashes.”

You know the one I am talking about.

The Cricket With Balls Aussie Code of Conduct XI Vs The Village Cricketer’s English All Stars.

I’d like to thank everyone who has donated so far, especially Judi who has gone above and beyond, and is donating everytime New Zealand win, so she is probably hoping they have a shocking series against the Indians.

And thanks to those who have put their name down to play.

But we need more donaters.

And we need more players.

It’s called the Cricket With Balls Aussie Code of Conduct XI.

So I need XI bodies of various shape, type and so forth from Australia.

Anyone with an Australian accent will be considered.

The event is going very well so we have set our aim just a little bit higher.

As the Village Cricketer puts it.

We are seeking corporate assistance in three areas:

A headline sponsor for the event

Shirt sponsorship for both sides

Corporate donations to the charity

We have had significant interest in the event to date, with a number of cricket’s finest journalists keen to participate, as well as a whole bunch of cricket bloggers. We are confident that an event of this nature, held in the run up to the Ashes and as part of Everyman Male Cancer Awareness Month, would provide any organisation aligning itself with the event with significant PR opportunities, in addition to knowing that they have contributed to a very worthy cause, helping fund research to cross out prostate and testicular cancer.

If any of this interests you please email me at cwb@cricketwithballs.com.

The testicals need you.

As you may have already seen, cricket with balls has been challenged to a duel.

We will be taking on the Village Cricketers English Superstars XI in a charity match in June next year.

The charity is the Everyman charity, aimed at stopping men losing their balls, true story.

The details of the match are here:

Monday 29th June 2009, 3pm start
Barnes Cricket Club, Lonsdale Road, London SW13 9QL

And I need 10 unfit men, and a fit woman or two, to go into battle with me.

I will be captain, naturally, so there are certain criteria you need to fit.

You need to be Australian, be handy with the sledge, can actually play cricket good, have excellent grammar and spelling, fight crime by night, prepared to accept Sehwag into your life, have money to donate to the charity, and are over for the cricket, or have not lived in England for more than one year.

Ofcourse all of these except the Australian part and the donating part can be waived in special circumstances.

So if you think you are the man, woman or thing up to representing the balls in the Cricket With Balls Aussie code of conduct XI, send an email to cwb@cricketwithballs.com and we’ll take it from there.

If you are English, and you want to play for the village dudes XI, go over there and comment.

If your ethnicity or location is a handicap in this game, but you still want to support the charity, and i would really like you to, please go here to donate.

Cricket With Balls asks for so little, but gives so much, please help us save other peoples balls.

It’s all for a good cause, because the cause is balls.
