Some people said nice and supportive things about Shane Watson on twitter when he went out for 96 straight after a break (for the 5th time now).
I ignored them.
These are a selection of the ones that weren’t as nice.
@danielbedford: Shane Watson you idiot….
@andrewcantalk: Shane Watson….seriously dude. seriously…
@Agent_02: Shane Watson you dumbass
@ashashake: lol @ Watson. i’m horrible.
@mrkistic: Watson gone for 96 to a stupid shot. Is it wrong for me to feel rather happy about that?? #cricket
@miriamlaila: LOLZ at shane watson.
Had Watson listened to my advice and charged down the wicket first ball this might not have happened.
I am sort of glad he didn’t.
Saw that coming…
He just ain’t got it!
Nielsen shouldn’t encourage Watson. Watto is a rebel. HE DUZ W0T HE W4NTZ!!! Idiot.
Still the ton eludes him.
pretty much sums up his career doesn’t it? almost there cricketer!
It irritated the way he walked off. I know it shouldn’t. Sulky, pouty and incredibly slow. If you get out get off. Quickly.
Dude gets 96. And still no love. He is slowly becoming the Australian Ravi Shastri. Hated by all countrymen except the selectors. Only think to see will be whether he spouts as many cliches.
Pete, only response is to laugh surely? Hilarious to watch his face. He looks like he wants to weep at the best of times.
From The Age the day before…………..
Shane Watson hit the pillow needing four runs for a maiden Test century and the appreciation he has long craved as a Test batsman.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
As Max Walker would say, “a bit of a rush of blood to the old head there…”
But it was delicious. His off driving gives me the irrits. Its almost like he photocopied a page from the robots guide to batting and loads it everytime the ball is full outside off stump.
That attempted pull shot looked like it came from the St.Patricks under13 B’s. Delicious!
The press turned it into a now or never moment and then Nielson cranked up the pressure, mwah,ha, ha. i shouldn’t find this so funny should i? After all, he’s had such a terrible time with injuries….. Did he actually cry when he got out?
He DOES look like he wants to weep at the best of times. That is very true.
2nd slip, every shot he plays, at the completion of the shot, looks like it comes from a robots guide. His completion is perfection. But the shot isn’t. Watch the replays carefully in slow motion and you will notice that every shot he plays is actually a bit rough on the way through, a bit unbalanced, body not quite positioned right, contact with the ball a bit bunty and woody, not quite out of the middle … and then he hits the ball (donks it really) … THEN he corrects his posture and makes sure he finishes up in the position the text books say he should. I have never seen a player who so obviously taught himself to bat by watching himself in the mirror. He’s clearly a very unlikeable guy – I wonder if he is unlikable because he spends so much time with the mirror, or if he has a close relationship with the mirror because he has always been unlikeable?
