Mike Hussey retirement rumour (exclusive, i think)

There are no facts.

There has been no press conferences.

There has been no inklings.

But somehow there is a rumour that Mike Hussey is set to announce his retirement.

It is apparently not from all forms of cricket, but does appear to be from test cricket, the one he is currently shit at.

I must state it is only a rumour at this stage, but it is one I have heard from 3 different places.

This is not a fake post about him retiring, I have already written that one.

When you hear a rumour so consistenly, and it is about Chris Gayle sleeping with someone’s girl, you feel the need to put it up.

So I have.

If Mike Hussey retires, you heard it here first.

If he doesn’t it will just be another reason for me to bag him.

I heard this during the Ashes and I can’t remember where, but since then nothing has come of it … maybe I dreamt it?

  2. poopsie says:

please be true, please be true, please be true…in forms of the game as well

  3. Sid says:

next is Oram.. its in the chennai blood ! food maybe.. :)

  4. D Charlton says:

I want him to retire when his Test average finally gets below 50, where it deserves to be.

This never happened to Hayden and this still upsets me…

  5. Matt says:

Charlton, Matty Hayden was a very fine batsman, as his record at home and away against nearly everyone attests – given he always looked to attack rather than accumulate his average is a pretty good and deserved accolade…

    Matt

  6. Hilly says:

Never understand why Hussey is so derided as “accumulator”. His ODI SR is higher than Haydens. what about that??? In tests its just bellow average but he mostly comes in when theres trouble… otherwise he doenst bat. I rekkon hes one of the all time greats (along with most aussie testplayers these days…ha ha)

    • jrod says:

Hilly, You can accumulate with a good strike rate. Can’t you. There are batsmen who score most of their runs with fours who have below average strike rates.
