A great session for Australia. Just what they were looking for, another collapse. Lucky the bowling is their strength.
England were inspired by Onions, and then Anderson suddenly realised he was looking bad.
Watson – what I expected yesterday.
Hussey – fucken hell
Ponting – looked ok then played a hook shot to one too high
Clarke – kept missing in swingers, eventually was given out to one.
North – didn’t seem to want to score, but was set, then he dangled his bat and gave Prior one for his highlight reel.
Johnson – fucken hell
Manou – got a couple away then missed a gem
Onions – showed again when the conditions are in his favour he is a dangerous bowler, he should cash in when he can, it doesn’t happen often.
Freddie – bowled very ordinary.
Anderson – spent too much time trying to fuck around instead of just working on swinging the ball one way. Once he got in a rhythm he was pretty good. The ball to Manou was special.
Broad – ordinary.
England would be rapped with this session, 7-77, Australia is all but all out.
Australia have let it slip, but they now get the same conditions to bowl with, so how good are they?
I don’t even want to think about the bowling. I’m too depressed about the batting.
It is like England are playing England. When did that happen?
Lou! For cyring out loud, keep the faith mate. If we can get anoither cheeky 40 runs, who knows maybe 250 is a good score on this pitch…..maybe that session yesterday will be key. However……….will our bowlers use the conditions to their favour or will MJ ponce about in usual form bowling to the batsmans sweet spot constantly and not create any pressure at all? Probably….. then we’ll be in the shit.
It’s hard. It feels like the Indian tour. Good first match then downhill from there.
I know…… we’ve lost our aura,
firstly, just wondering where the majority of your visitors are coming from – feels quite unfair to follow this site for a year faithfully, and then have to lose it right when the ashes comes along. first time i have been able to access it in two days of trying.
secondly, feel like agreeing with emskie. this english side is like a pakistani one in the sense that if they lose one they seem to lose several. seeing how the english are struggling to bowl the aussies out, at the very least i would imagine this would be a really close game…
KK, The site went down for about 16 hours yesterday. Should be fine now, we hope. Am looking for a new server. The hits are usually split in quarters, from India, Australia, England and everwhere else. Unless Rediff has a big day, then India takes over.
Considering how all the concentraion has been on the Aussie bowling and how piss-poor Mitchie has been, if you look over the last year, the batting has been easliy the equal in klutziness of the bowling. The Australian team seem to collapse to order now.
Shit, I am fed up with it. If even Hilfy can get fucking hit 20 runs, why can’t Hussey remember to bring his sticking hunk of willow out to the pitch with him? It’s not handball Mike.
Dropping Hughes is scapegoating big-time, though I understand why they did it.
Punter gets out to some serially dumb shots these days. He seems to be impelled to go along at 80 sr and in the process does something brainless without getting to a decent score.
It just seems like none of them can cope with pressure.
MJ did look good this evening and I would like to stick something unpleasant in Rudi’s bed for not giving the easiest and plumbest LBW decision of his rapidly degrading career.
On Sky, you could hear that Holding knew how badly MJ needed that wicket. He was almost contemptuous of Rudi and he is rarely like that of umps.
You would think that half of of them had never played in England before. “LIke, is the ball swinging is it? jeez I’ve never seen that before!”
Hussey has one last chance (we hope – surely he wouldn’t be kept on for the 4th test?)
Nothing less than a century in the 2nd innings (if we ever get there – it’s raining there in Edgebaston)
If Mitch doesn’t come out firing tonight – Clark must come in surely???
