Homer, it's fair enough to compare this umpiring with the KP incident (or Hauritz, or a million others...), but isn't Moses' point that you somehow left the KP incident out of the other half of your comment? What is the difference in the fielder's actions?

I can't believe no one has spotted the elaborate plan. Strauss (born in South Africa) has teamed up with Koertzen (another South African) to screw over Australia and Billy Doctrove went along with it as he is still pissed that Australia replaced the West Indies as the world's leading cricketing power house. It's quite simple if you think about it really.

Steve, I don't think spelling has ever been an issue for this site. It was great listening to the Teev commentators trying to convince themselves it was up.

Whinging Aussies! Strauss isn't a cheat, he claimed what he thought was a fair catch, and the umpire gave the guy out. If Doctrove had any doubt he'd have consulted the video umpire. Any of you remember the Waugh 'catch' to remove Lara,? Yes the one that bounced three times and Waugh picked it up off the turf... obviously not.

I don't think it's possible to discern whether it was grassed or not from the video. I think the third ump would not have given it, though. The ball didn't appear to rise into the hands as it did with Hauritz yesterday, but it's possible that it rested on a few blades of grass as Strauss grabbed it...

But surely it is the umpire's fault, rather than Strauss, though I must admit he is showing a proper 'win at all costs' mentality that I never expected from him, but don't blame him for. He isn't a orphan.

How can Doctrove who is so very keen on not-outing people decide emphatically that this one was out after the Hauritz episode? It is so easy for the umpires to be consistent in these particular cases and they have not been at all. The Hussey one was a completely honest mistake if completely wrong and when things aren't going right....

It makes me laugh to see Swann getting more dodgy decisions in his favour, after the Windies tour, I thought he had used up his quota for the year.
