Be grateful you played in under-13 cricket with Aaron.

These days, apparently, he’s hung like an elephant. When he played club cricket in Christchurch his party trick in the changing rooms was to walk up behind one of the young guys and place member on shoulder as an initiation kind of thing.

Note, that in Christchurch, such behaviour is considered acceptable.

He was a dick. He wasn’t as bad as the coach, though – his Dad – Rodney Redmund, who also played for New Zealand, and reminded us of the fact as often as he could. He was and probably still is a jaw-droppingly awful coach, and was single-handedly responsible for me not picking up a bat or a ball for nearly ten years. Quite why anyone thought him appropriate to be set loose on a bunch of eleven-year olds, I will never know.

Are those good enough reasons?
