Simon Jones is out for the season Ashes

If that is not a drop your knickers headline, I don’t know what is.

This one is true by the way.

I wouldn’t lie to you two days in a row.

Actually I would, but I’m not.

For those who still think the 2005 Ashes is haunting the Aussies, let us look at the list of people who won’t play in these Ashes.

S Harmison; is the happiest man in Durham, and the selectors seem keen to leave him there.

S Jones; may be built like a Spartan, but just like in 300, that definition is clearly fake.

A Giles; is so retired he is now a selector; this can only help the Aussies.

G Jones; England has tried approximately 39 wicket keepers since he last played.

M Vaughan; retired after setting a record for the most times you can get bowled missing the straight delivery, is now trying to come back.

I Bell; Australia would do well to get him back into the side.

M Hoggard; is now a professional cartoonist, of sorts.

So maybe these are the ghosts of the 2005 ashes, as their careers all seem dead.

Add to that list the walking wounded.

A Flintoff; says he will be fit for the Ashes, doesn’t mention if he plans on being fit for the entire Ashes.

K Pietersen; says he won’t be fit for the Ashes, but will play in some of them.

S Broad; had his pride stomped on a couple of times in the World T20 thingy.

Ofcourse Australia has players missing from the 2005 Ashes squad as well.

No Brad Hodge, Michael Kasprowicz or Shaun Tait.

Not sure how the Graun can justify this as “news”.

  2. jrod says:

  3. Moses says:
