t20 is dead

The Scottish V New Zealand match has opened me up to a new form of cricket.

S7.

Or Seven7.

The problem with t20 is all the superfluous overs in the middle of the game, 13 to be exact.

With S7, you don’t need the game to be close for the game to be exciting.

And it turns minnows into super six hitting freaks.

I have often thought the problem with t20 cricket is the 5-18 over range.

If you check the records I think you will find there are less DLFers in this time period.

So that is it, t20 is over.

Long live S7.

S7 sure is the future, and is likely to have a long reign. Maybe for as long as 7 months.

Until the first rain-interrupted match comes along and we all realise the true beauty of T3 cricket.

Fantastic. I’m going straight to the president of my cricket club and I’ll be selling him on the idea of a tournament within our local association. I will call it ‘S-club7′.

Not so fast. It will take atleast 3 more T20 world cups before this happens. I know you know that but that thsi was too good a riff to not post a blog on…

  8. Can you have a serious game in less than 20 overs?
