I would play Monty before Onions on anything flat, whether it is going to spin or not.
England don’t need 4 front line seamers.
With Monty in this attack it will give them the sort of balance that Australia would drop Mike Hussey for.
Problem is if any of their players lose form, the team drops off completely.

The problem there is a three man seam attack that includes Freddie. He is vying with Watson for ‘most broken body’. England do not have much scope or reserves. England need wickets that ‘do a bit’. On dead wickets they might as well give up.
