Don’t bullshit a bullshitter

Younis Khan and Michael Clarke have given completely unbiased comments to the press over Saeed Ajmal ‘s doosra.

Michael Clarke has said,

“Watto certainly didn’t go to the umpires and say a word, none of our players have approached the umpires and spoken about it…I think Watto was pretty upset with the shot he played and getting out”

Now watch this Video that Ducking Beamers alerted me to.

Clarke is absolutely correct, Watson never told the umpire, he did yell to Roy about it, who was standing next to the umpire, and then he told Ajmal all about it, while he was within a metre of the umpire.

So no, Pup, he didn’t tell the umpire, but he did ensure that the umpire heard on at least two occasions in this footage alone.

Not to be out propaganded, Younis Khan has this to say,

“This is always happening with India and Pakistan and Australia…. Why do we create all the time controversies? Why? It’s a fair game, you know.

You’re talking about the doosra, Why (shouldn’t) he (Ajmal) bowl doosra? Because this is an art and especially Pakistanis and Indians they have the art, so why (should it) not be allowed?”

All fair points you might say, except:

Cricket Next has written that Saeed Ajmal has been called before.

This is not some massive conspiracy from Ricky Ponting and James Sutherland. Watson had a strop, and the officiating panel who put Ajmal up for chucking are Umpires BF Bowden (New Zealand) and Nadeem Ghauri (Pakistan), TV umpire Asad Rauf (Pakistan) Match referee JJ Crowe (New Zealand)Reserve umpire Zameer Haider (Pakistan).

And, before this, the last 3 people Australia had anything to do with being called for chucking were A Bird (AUS), J Gunn (ENG) and J Botha (SA).

Australia continue to spin, but Pakistan continues to do it better.

Much as I hate agreeing with whiney sub-continentals with their perpetual victim consciousness, the blame lies dead on Cupcake Watson. You only had to see Cupcake’s petulant squished-icing face each time he got out to spin to know he was out to make trouble.

Pup should slap him around a bit, rather than absolving him. It seems to work for the Indians-that ‘s probably where they get their wrist spin expertise from.

Or get Katich to throttle him if Pup can’t bear a repeat of Fishingate.

  2. anonymous says:

there it is – aussie supremacism at its best. this is my last comment on this blog. i still love you JRod.

  3. Tony T says:

I watched that video five times and I can’t hear what Watson said. (Admittedly my laptop doesn’t have state of the art sound.) Is Paper Cut supposed to have called to Symonds that Ajmal is a chucker?

And even if he did, so what? It’s extremely unlikely the FOUR non-Australian umpires would be taking their cues from Watson when reporting Ajmal.

  4. jrod says:

Don’t leave anon, I need all the love I can get from chubby Indians.

  5. jrod says:

Tony, I think he says ‘he chucked that’, but hard to make out. I have no problem with cricketers voicing their concerns, my problem is with Clarke trying to spin it.

  6. Leg Break says:

    Umpires BF Bowden (New Zealand)

No he’s not; nothing to do with us.

    He’s an alien.

  7. Dhananjay Mhatre says:

Watson voicing his disapproval gets my support. One should be vocal about getting out to a chuck since it is against the rules (whether it should be changed is a matter left to be discussed afterwards). I remember Venkatesh Prasad once objecting to Afridi’s faster one by making the arm bending action for all to see. Afridi did not bowl a single faster one after that during the entire series.
Clarke spinning it has negated all that Watson did.

  8. Pete says:

Clarke’s media skills are pretty poor for an aspiring national captain. Or maybe in CA circles they are seen as excellent.

  9. raj says:

LB, absolutely. Billy Bowden is Aussie in spirit. He is infatuated by Steve Waugh, and never loses an opportunity to tell his LOVE(Australia) how much he loves them. The accident of his birth in NZ cannot absolve Australia here jrod. Billy is a honorary aussie. As for the other umpires not being Aussie, that is what I am saying here. Aussies are experts at influencing opinion, and unfortunately, they use it to their cynical advantage – if ajmal were aussie clarke would be spinning it like “as far as we can see, he does not chuck. Aussies do not chuck.”. So, yes, this is a step of evolution from English whining. Just ensure that the best opposition players are defeated off-field. Basically, Australian players are afriad to have a fair game of Cricket. They can only win by such means. I mean, the post Waugh era. The waugh era team and their predecessors were good enough to win on their talent even though they also resorted to such cynical tactics often – basically, that was the icing in the cake for them. For Ponting’s team, and the successors, poor sportsmanship is the cake. Without that, they cannot win against most of the top teams.

  10. Prafs says:

    RAJ!dude, cool down!!
this aint an asia vs australia forum,
    give jrod a break man,
this is his blog, his point of view, he is unbiased, and not a racist definitely as far we readers know
if you dont like what he writes, dont read it.
why dont you create your own blog and voice your opinion.
    fair enough, i’d say.

  11. sla says:

    Don’t go anywhere Raj.
i love reading your ranting and passionate opinions – the majority are about how racist australians are.
Keep up the good work. Bloody racist australians.

The doosra appears to be impossible for anyone to bowl with a straight (enough) arm. Everyone that ‘bowls’ it gets labelled a chucker. Don’t they?

  12. sla says:

It appears i should have read the comments on “the young offspinners manifest” before posting my comment. Everything i bought up has been addressed elsewhere.

    As you were.

  13. after years of hating smug aussie bastards, i think i can unequivocally say that jrod is the most un-aussie aussie we’ve seen.

as things stand now though, it’s against the rules, and even if the rules are unfair, it doesn’t make chucking right.

but with regards to the doosra and chucking, it feels like a bit of reverse swing deja vu. we might just see chucking legalized soon, the poms then use it to win the ashes two decades later, and everyone celebrates it as the ‘dark art’

moreover, not that you may care much, but not all brown people think you are a racist supremacist jrod, i hope all this doesn’t get to you.

  14. Sunny says:

@karachikhatmal – come on now, don’t interrupt this conversation with astute observations. when wasim and co did in the early 90′s, they were fucking cheats. now that the aussies and english bowlers have figured it out, its an “art”.

i think everyone needs to be a little less precious and calm the fuck down. most of us (including raj) are not baiting jrod. just noting the bullshit sprouting from the aussie team over the past few years. with clarke at helm it has gone up a notch.

  15. Dhananjay Mhatre says:

    I second Karachikhatmal. You rock.

  16. birdseye says:

    sunny boy

no, I’m noting the bullshit coming from the whiny “Aussies’ are all smug, cheating racists and we’re pure as fuckin’ snow and the only ones who ever play fair and we’re victims of the Aussies’ racism, cheating, whingeing, chucking, bullshitting ………….. (add any other bitch you feel like here)” Indians and Pakistanis.

Bullshitting has long been a high art in India, before Australian cricket ever was born.

  17. Sunny says:

@birdseye – mate that’s the difference. dhoni’s devils are no saints but they don’t pretend to be either. its the hypocrisy of the aussie cricketers that stands out.

and as far as cricket is concerned, i am an equal opportunity bigot.

  18. raj says:

Well, KK and Sunny, I’m surely not accusing jrod of racism. I wouldnt be commenting in this blog if I didnt believe that he is fair and unbiased.
I mean, look at birdie’s comment. It seems Indians were hypocritical and cheating before Aussies. Hello. jrod, can you address this? I am sure you know the history of ICC where England and Australia had a VETO, and used it to their maximum advantage. Until Dalmia and Modi emerged, India, Pakistan etc and even NZ were victims of Aus and Eng. I am sure you know this. Whatever BCCI is doing now is small change compared to the hypocrisy and autocracy of ECB and CA during those days. To pretend otherwise is really insane.
Tell me this, since when are indian cricketers being weeds? Since Harbhajan? So what was the previous generation – Laxman, Sachin, Rahul, Kumble? You know of more respected cricketers of their generation? Surely not. Contemporary luminaries of these cricketers from Oz – Hayden, Ponting, Slater, Warne(only cricketer who sledged umpires and got away with it). To anyone with an unbiased mind, it will be clear who are gentlemen and who are sinners among these.

  19. raj says:

KK, excellent observation on reverse swing. When Pakis did it, it was cheating. When Englishmen did it, it was art. Not only that, Aussies laugh off suggestions that English cheated even though they were the losers because of that. We saw the reaction to Tresco’s book. So, they can tolerate the Englishmen ‘tampering’ the ball. They will still not complain or call teh English cheats, even after an Englishman admits that they tampered the ball. This despite losing precisely because of that. So much of tolerance towards Englishmen. Yet, they dont wait to call Indians and Pakistanis cheat, as they did with Akram and Younus. If this does not prove their hypocrisy and double standards, what will?

  20. Q says:

During the 2nd ODI when Watson got out, I was in the photographers area, which was right next to the Aussie dressing room.. Watson was swearing his ass off as he walked up and he as he walked in I could hear him clearly.. what he said was ..”f*cking thrower!”.

  21. jamie64 says:

    Geez Raj,

I hope you’ve got a spare spleen to vent. Next you’ll be accusing Australians of starting WW2.

Have you actually read you posts? They make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It is this simple. Chuckers, from any nation should be banned.

Can you agree with this? Simple question, yes or no, will suffice, but feel to rant on about Australians cheating and Indians being as pure as ther driven snow and thereby not answering the question, as usual.

  22. Q says:

If Murali can ball, anyone can.

  23. Leg Break says:

    Raj,

Do you want an example of racism and attempted supremacist behaviour in world cricket at the moment?

Well what about the 4 “foreigners” per side in the IPL rule?

As well as being a restraint of trade, it makes the sides farcical.

    The tournament itself already was.

  24. The Gaz Man says:

LB – even if they changed the (racist) IPL rules, the Mumbai Indians (how racist is that name?) would still not give Kyle Mills a game. Look at their squad, 3 or 4 token white guys who will probably not get a game this season. Who would pay money for Luke Ronchi? Graham Napier? And who the fark is Ryan McLaren? How racist is that selection policy?

  25. raj says:

    “Raj,

Do you want an example of racism and attempted supremacist behaviour in world cricket at the moment?

Well what about the 4 “foreigners” per side in the IPL rule?

LB, you are not serious are you? If you are serious, I’ll answer you on this

  26. Homer says:

gee LB, the foreign player limit ( and the term) have been around county cricket for as long as I can remember..

And now they have “Kolpak” players to add to the mix :)

    Cheers,

  27. Leg Break says:

    Raj,

    Of course I’m serious.

    Homer,

County cricket never got the rest of world cricket to stop when it was on.

County cricket never arranged for players who played in other tournaments to be banned.

  28. steve says:

back to the original point of this post-

Saeed Ajmal not only gets fined, but dropped
    Watson gets to wank on

    Bullshitting stakes:
    Australia 1, Pakistan 0

  29. Homer says:

    LB,

“County cricket never arranged for players who played in other tournaments to be banned.” – no , but the TCCB did.. Just ask Tony Grieg :)

  30. Jonathan says:

    LB, what are you on?

  31. Leg Break says:

I thought it was about time someone paid raj the sincerest form of flattery.

  32. Prafs says:

About time someone shut that idiot up, good goin LB.
