The special form that Australia’s one day side have shown of late has finally landend them, temporarily, the second spot on the ICC ladder.
It is well deserved.
Mike Hussey given as long as he wants to regain form.
Fast bowlers rested so often no one remembers who the third seamer is.
Michael Clarke opening the batting while Shaun Marsh is fit.
A batting order that doesn’t seem to know its place.
The bowlers complete disregard for yorkers, and their lust for full tosses.
Batting so brittle even a Botha can take it down.
And finally a renewed vigor in dropping chances.
It takes alot to pull this off, but the Australian one day side is now proper ordinary.
They will win games, and they will lose games, but next world cup they aren’t defendind their title, they are in the pack fighting for it like all the other pleb sides.
Should be fun.
Once Haddin got out last night I went to bed. Good choice it seems.
The continued selection of Hussey is a guarantee that Roy will soon rise from the dead
marsh has been chosen as the ONE to teach the game to the United States. So, for the Greater Good, aussies seem to be making a sacrifice.
@ Pete- nothin better !
@ Poopsie- he is already put on his dancing shoes and fishing hat~!
No wonder this makes Younis Khan come up with a whitewash comment on the

But seriously speaking the team should play their strongest eleven it does’nt make sense. Not just the third seamer the spin dept is a major worry with some top tournaments comin up. Play Marsh or leave him for Preity’s xi !! :) Don’t carry him around to show him the middle East!
@Pete — better choice anyday.
@Poopsie — Sure he’s put on his dancing shoes and fishing hat on already.
And all this makes Younis Khan’s comment on the Aussie whitewash sound WISE!!
The other worry apart from the 3rd Seamer is the spin dept. with a lot of top cricket still left this season, hope the Selectors and team management can a pull a Rabbit out of this one. If the team is not gonna play Marsh, they’d better leave him behind for Preity’s xi , rather than bird watching in mid-East.
Not to rub it in but Australia isn’t even second in the ODI rankings, it is third. As of yesterday’s debacle India is ahead by one point, 122 to 121 with South Africa at 127.
i see australia is doing its best to make sure india doesn’t become numero uno in the rankings. which is fine because india prolly prefer all the pressure be on the saffers till world cup time. and then the saffers choke in the semis.
on a sidenote, nothing gives me more pleasure than watching some rank spinner rearrange the mr bingle’s woodwork. the dumbfounded look on pup’s face is always priceless!
I’m loving it!
