So, poor old Kevin Pietersen is a bit homesick and wanted to pop back to England for 48 hours during the current tour. This is quite understandable, given that he’s been away for almost three months.
What is less comprehensible is that, after a week or so back in Blighty, he’s taking off for 3 weeks in the IPL.
I guess this just goes to show that, when it comes to homesickness, the only real cure is nice big injection. Of cash. To the order of half a million pounds.

To be fair, he did ask to go back to see his wife in a Ice Dancing TV final. It wasn’t just because he wanted to go home.
And his wife will be with him in South Africa.
Well, the board (ECB) really thought he wants to return to SAF land and represent their national side! The current English bunch can only win with 3 guys getting credit Duckworth, Lewis and ofcourse the coach of the opposite team.
Perhaps KP would be happier on tour if the ECB didn’t insist on driving a wedge between…well, everyone, with their hapless stupidity. Why we insist on denigrating him I do not understand. After all, he is the best player in the side…or is that the reason?
