I have always said there are not enough plays on cricket.
Well never said it, or really thought it, but it is true.
Recently Shane Warne the muical got alot of attention.
But I have seen a new play, that for me would be way more interesting than Shane Warne.
The play is called 1953, and it’s a play about a New Nealand cricketer, Bob Blair, who played knowing that his fiancĂ©e had just died in a train disaster.
I’ve never heard this story before, but Bob Blair sounds like one hell of a bloke, and worthy of a play and our respect.
Being that the play is about New Zealand cricket in the 50′s, and the death of a loved one, probably safe to say it’s not a rom com.
It’s a one man show, which means it can go either way, but New Zealand cricket has been a one man show before, and that worked out well at times.
There are a few details here, if you need more than the virtually no information i have given.
So if you are near the Pumphouse, Takapuna, from now to February 28, you should go, and if you do, and you write a review on the play, I will post it right here, and you can tell your friends you are famous.
That be some play. And some film too.
takes me to the wc when sachin lost his dad, and went on to score that ton vs kenya.
weird how a loss makes u a winner.
