Callum?

Australia are well and truly in panic mode now.

They have now picked another player I have hardly ever mentioned before.

And Adam Voges.

All because Ricky needs a break.

For a moment i thought Callum Ferguson had never penetrated these hallow halls.

But i was wrong,

“Adcock, Ferguson and Borgas have had wraps on them for quite a while. They look like cricketers, but no real results.”

See.

That was October 07.

The memories.

Usually i would be up in arms about such a selection.

However Ferguson has just made runs against the Vics, and i looked at his record this year, and it’s pretty good.

Quiney and Bailey must feel a little aggrieved, both would have thought they were closer to the national side, as they have spread their good work over a couple of seasons, and Quiney has made runs against NSWales at full strength, and Bailey just made runs against the Kiwis.

Ferguson is not a bad bat, but he just never seemed to kick on for SA, obviously al that time with Younis Khan has really given his game that extra edge.

Seems like an odd selection to me, but Voges will probably play ahead of him.

Although knowing Voges he will probably miss out, again.

Why is Luke Ronchi not playing? And couldnt the Prick have missed the IPL payday to get his rest instead of turning down the opportunity of playing for his country?

    OMG – Damn the IPL!!!

    Cheers,

Apparently Vettori had to make an official complaint, because you know that no one saw it.

To me, this quote says that Ponting was dropped!

“I wanted to play on through the coming week and continue to lead the team in the series against New Zealand. However, the decision was made by the national selection panel as part of their plan to rest all players at appropriate times during this year. I have reluctantly accepted their decision and will be eagerly awaiting my return to the team.”

For mine, the obvious replacement for Ponting is Simon Katich. He’s in top form and brings experience to the table.

Ferguson’s callup is pretty harsh on a bunch of young palyers in top form this year. Hughes, Rohrer, North, Quiney, Carseldine, Thornley!

Could not agree more Moses. To continually omit Katich is amazing looking at his form but sensible when following the selectors form

this is an hilariously bad squad

    should be fun

callum is a good pick but i can’t get my head around the fact that they couldn’t fit phillip hughes into this squad! i guess we need david hussey’s off breaks and cameron white as a messenger.

also luke ronchi is soft. instead of challenging haddin for the top job, his comments would suggest he is quite happy to be just a back up. atleast that’s what he said during the T20s against the saffers. not sure that’s the right attitude…he has accepted he is second rate.

also if pup wins the next few games, does it mean the end of punter as an ODI captain?! when was the last time a deposed captain continue to play for australia? or should they stick with punter until he retires even though he is shite?

  7. Pete says:

Katich is in ace form and could do a whole lot better than anyone in the current side scoring runs in those Vettori/Botha middle overs. The Krab used to be the ODI snail but with this current side he’d almost be Sehwagian.

  8. jrod says:

I cannot, and will not call for the krab in one day cricket.

Sunny, isn’t that the way though, Haddin did the same thing Ronchi is doing now. Not saying it’s right, but obviously it’s how it works.

  9. Sunny says:

@jrod – yeah, ronchi is trying to say the right things but haddin is no gilly. so why so much respect?

  10. jrod says:

    Wicketkeepers union.
