Cricket With Balls Own Nice Bryce McGain strikes hard at lame Beautiful Beau

Hate to say I told you so

Bullshit.

I fucken love it.

Bryce McGain is taking wickets for Australia A.

He had 3 for 13 at one stage.

On a day where only one other wicket was taken.

Beau Casson could not handle the Nice Bryce pressure and pulled a hamstring.

His one over went for 7 anyway.

The 3 players McGain got out were classy as well.

Uthappa, Patel and Badrinath.

Gold star for Byrce.

His figures were:

17 overs

5 maidens

3 wickets

51 runs

Nice start.

Peter Sizzle (siddle) bowled 10 overs for 16.

The only negative from the day was the way Crac Info described Bryce.

“Without guile of flight.”

Thems fighting words.

The big problem of the day is that Bryce couldn’t go wrist to wrist with Casson.

Now those in the pro Casson camp, can say that Beau might have been able to take more wickets.

Nut he wasn’t, instead he had men touching his legs.

Day one to Bryce.

3/13 to 3/51.. dunno if anyone can read too muchh into that.. And what is more interesting is that McGain got his wickets with a newer ball.Maybe there is something to “without guile of flight”!!!Cheers,

  2. Jrod says:

The new ball thing is interesting, he bowls quite good in one day cricket with a new ball as well. Without guile of flight is still better than 1 over for 7 and a hamstring injury.

  3. Homer says:

Was “Beau” the unloved child? How else can one explain a name like that? And how seriously does anyone take someone with the name “Beau” ?Also, regarding McGain, think about this – the first session of the day’s play washed out- a damp wicket and a harder ball affording the spinner some grip and purchase.. As the day progresses, the wicket flattens out..Just how good is Bryce McGain?Cheers,

His mother was a big fan of soap operas i’m assuming. I’ve been a legspinner since i was 8, and bowling on a wet pitch has never helped me, but McGain does bowl a little differently to me.

  5. Park says:

I was taking your article seriously until you put Partiv Patel in the same sentence as “classy”. “Journeyman”, “doughty” or “prepubescent” I could understand.

  6. Leg Break says:

Ahhh… Bryce McGain. Good to read about him again.Makes a change from all the County cricket drivel. It reminds me of how this blog used to be.

  7. Batting in Ned Kelly's Helmet says:

The article you quoted on cricinfo says “he picked up his three wickets with the change in length” – that’s pretty impressive spin bowling to take wickets through changing your length ‘without guile of flight.’Actually that was Stuart MacGill’s entire strategy – there was a special name for the balls he bowled of varying length without much flight. ‘Twas called shit. But as Stuey proved every time he bowled: shit gets wickets.

patel and uthappa will certainly be sending you congratulatory gits for classifying them classic players…

  11. Jrod says:

Sp, I said classy, not classic. LB, fuck you. Park, i must admit he probably isn’t classy, but i thought i was underestimating him, as they batted him at 3. Ned Kelly, It’s an amazing skill to have.
