The royals win even without boof

Y Pathan put on a clinic early on.

Graeme Smith followed like a school kid with a crush.

Kaif showed off for the cheerleaders.

And Shane Keith Warne came in and said “Roy” well batted, but it doesn’t look that hard

The Royals everyones favourite team to bag before the tournament are riding a wave of Warnemania.

And the dude still has some waves to make.

Deccan, a team I once supported couldn’t defend 214, no wonder I jumped ship when I did.

Although Afridi bowled well, not bad for the oldest looking 28 year old going around.

hy’bad are saf – and that without any safs in the XI. Must be the Gibb’s curse. Get him off the bench, back to the hotel.

Is there any coincidence that Deccan’s ability to put together loss after loss is closely associated with their NZ 80s beige wardrobe?

I was waiting for the Warnie and Smith punch-up. How long will we wait for that? Ironic that the retired Warne got the better of Symonds.

Hey, anyone else think Warnie may teach fat Smith how to nab a woman? He’s as desperate and dateless as ever but Warnie knows how to charm them.

Bit presumptous, but what the heck…I quote myself from two sources - but the one I expect to really prick the balloons of people are the Jaipur Royals. Anyone underestimating that set may have another thought or two rushing in at breakneck speed.and from comments on CWB for an earlier pre-IPL article The thorn in some backsides could be the Royals.True, I might have got a couple of things wrong back in those comments…namely placing Uthappa in BRC instead of Mumbayyas, and hoping Bharath Chipli might be playing for BRCs.DC was a sentimental error…my roots go back to Hyd…so no regrets in that.Been off slogging the week, catching up now on the weekend. Some nice articles this past week.Haven’t watched too much of the action either.

By the way, both were before IPL commenced. You know I’m a Warney fan over the years, seen his county work too, and I’ll never underestimate his cricket acumen ever. I did enjoy watching McGrath and Warne at the Kotla almost a week back….my son too had his first, and probably only live look-see, at the two still playing-fit.
