Hopes is Hopeless.
The way he constructed that innings on Tuesday night was useless. Yes he preserved his wicket, but he batted at 60% strike rate, when the run rate asked for 6-7 runs per over. The amount of balls he blocked was infuriating – whether he was trying to impress the test selectors, who knows, but it frustrated the $hit out of me.
This is a bold statement, which will no doubt come back to bite me and goes against the grain of CWB. But Shane Watson (the luckiest and most overrated Australian cricketer ever) is a better bet than Hopes – fit or not.
If UJ is comparing him to Harvey, his cricketing career will be snuffed very shortly.
Go away Hopes, go away.
I think Hopes is good. If he can improve against spinners, the way many Australian batsmen have over the past decade, I dont see why he is not perfect for the floater role.
for all the talks of oz batting failures second final defeat should also be attributed to bowlers discipline in bowling wides…specially johnson…i second john if he tweak his technique against spinner he can be good asset though even after so long certain yuvraj is still to master it…

Don’t worry about him constructing an inns, he just can’t play spin. Which is what happens if you spend your career facing Jackson and Hauritz in the nets. Have to agree a fit Watson would be better choice.

Hopes is a better bowler than Watson can ever be and a better batsman than Watson can ever be.I completely agree on Watson being the most overrated cricketer ever.I strongly felt that Trevor Hohns was besotted with Watson – literally :-)
Bottom line Hopes didn’t win it.Watto would have cleared the fence a few times and won it before the last over.
Big Daddy, being that you are a father now, maybe you should lay off the heroin.Shane Watson would have been out for 8 plumb in front for not putint his foot on off stump and missing the ball.Not too mention the fact his bowling would have gone for another 10 runs as well.Plus he is SHANE FUCKING WATSON…
