Let’s just start this properly.
Harbhajan Singh is an obnoxious weed (little or otherwise).
Matthew Hayden is one of the most disliked figures in the game (the word pr1ck comes to mind).
So they are both right.
I don’t think there are many non Indian fans that think Harbhajan is a good bloke, he is a sh1t stirrer and a mouth, and if he played a contact sport, he would be regularly taken down.
Hayden is well known for being a smug flat track bully (although he’s pretty good on most tracks) who sledges like a retarded toddler. Yet again outside of Australia, especially in the republique, he is not well loved.
Both of these men are religious guys.
Now I’m not in any way saying this is what makes them both pricks, but….
Harbhajan is a Sikh, and shares the name of one another Sikh, Harbhajan Singh Yogi.
Now I’ve always liked Sikhs, but I like swords. Not enough religions have swords. And this Yogi fellow seems pretty cool, he was against nuclear bombs, was for inter faith togetherness, and liked yoga.
Cricket’s Harbhajan Singh, has never spoken up on nuclear war, has not performed inter faith work in Atlanta and has not started any major yoga groups.
Matthew Hayden likes Jesus, or as he calls him, Christ.
In this interview, he says, “I ask myself what would Christ be doing in this situation?”.
My question to you Haydos is, would Jesus have gone on radio and said, “”It’s been a bit of a long battle with Harbhajan. The first time I met him, he was the same little obnoxious weed that he is now.”
Since I believe in Jesus as much as I believe in Santa, it is hard for me to know, so I went to askmoses.com and asked them. But Moses wanted to talk about Jesus not being the messiah.
Then I went to ask-jesus.org, but Jesus has a crap website, so that didn’t work either.
I guess questions like this are not mean to be answered.
But if you want the truth about existence go to rael.org.
If you just want guidance, do what I do.
WWGD.
What Would Gilly Do?
Harbhjan may be a prick or weed or whatever on the field. Hayden has serious problems if he is going to blurt out nonsense on radio stations.I have 20 somethings in my team who hate their teammates/clients. Even they know what are the right forums to express their personal opinions on others.I actually liked Hayden. This comment has been a dissapointment
I still like hayden. He’s playing for Chennai, my hometown in the IPL. I hope Harbhajans team (bom) gets wallopped by the Hussey and the other gangsters.
Hayden and Harbhajan can prick each other as much as they want, I care little. What’s strange though is Hayden’s comments on Ishant Sharma in the same interview. AFAIK, apart from the Symonds send-off, this wee lad is in news only for his Adam’s apple and knack of getting big wickets. Why then, the bad Indian accent mimicking Ishant and why the call into a boxing ring ?
Even when being nailed to the cross, Jesus didn’t yell out “obnoxious weed” or anything like that.I know this because I saw a movie about him once. Instead he just hung there singing “Always look on the bright side of life”.
All I hope is that all of this chatter culminates to a fascinating contest on Sunday in Sydney..
btw.. first time visitor on ur blog and must commend on ur punchline.. the neil harvey one.. lol
Thanks Purv.
Oh no Sydney again on Sunday. Good luck to both factions :-)Guys I don’t see anything wrong with Hayden calling Bhajji some form of pot, nor do I see anything wrong with Bhajji calling Symonds an ancestoral animal, nor do I see anything wrng with sledging or taking a jibe at an opponent publicly. It just adds to the excitement and entertainment. Its no longer a Gentlemens game o the 1910s and we shouldn’ think of it as one.The banning of sledging, the portrayal of cricketers as the best human beings alive, etc etc is like decieving the public or rather asking cricketers to behave out of character – why?No bowlers likes to get hit and no batsman likes to get out, frustrations are bound to be there, and everyone shud be able to let them out.IMO as long as sledges do not involve members of the family or racist remarks it all is ok.
I’m done and expended Uncle…sh1te hangover from the double large ones the other day…just get the cricket back on air!
What does Hayden know about playing international cricket at nineteen??
John, what does he know about adams apples.
I doubt Harbhajan is religious. He might wear a turban like most Sikhs do, but that don’t mean squat.
When India toured Pak in 2004 and 2006, Harbhajan used to sit with the Pakistani players during the post and pre match Islamic lectures – he may not be religious but definitely religion curious.
So he’s Re-curious, thats sort of like bi-curious, only much more boring.
CAN I JUST SAY i sent Jrod an email a while ago saying, amongst other things,”‘what would gilly do’ is as good a life philosophy as any.”He has thieved WWGD from me. Isn’t he outrageous?
“Matthew Hayden is one of the most disliked figures in the game (the word pr1ck comes to mind).” JRodOnly outside of Queensland where it doesn’t matter. Bloody Victorians aren’t even good enough to get in the national side.Adams apples are good targets to punch at.Matty is a legend. Tell the truth you’d love to have a beer with Matty wouldn’t you.WWGD? He’d praise him and he did.
I’m not a fan of Hayden’s general personality on or off the field but I can cope with it in light of his 410 at 82 runs in the tests & 298 at 37 in ODIs. What I don’t get is Harbhajan’s attitude given his 8 wickets at 60 odd in the test & 8 wickets at 30 odd in the ODIs. The only thing he contributed in this tour is rubbish that came out of his mouth. I think another Indian choke at a World Cup will put things back into perspective
